Shallow Creek Kennels, Inc. was built in the fall of 2005 using state-of-the-art ideas that we have personally observed, worked in, and studied at some of the most prestigious kennels and animal hospitals around the world.
Our first and foremost concern was making the kennel safe, comfortable and healthy for the dogs to be housed in.We chose to build a kennel of 80 runs, so that each dog receives care by us everyday!
We are completely committed to providing the soundest police service dogs to our customers possible. All dogs in the kennel are checked by our veterinarian within days of their arrival from Europe. Each dog is examined, given wormer, heartworm tested and put on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Hip X-rays are evaluated for a second time here, insuring a healthy and sound animal.
We utilized solid insulated cement block construction in our generous 14-foot-long, 4-foot-wide, and 6-foot-high indoor/outdoor runs, totally separating each dog. This eliminates kennel fighting and cross contamination, keeping each dog safe and secure from injury and disease.
The interior 4-foot by 4-foot section of each individual run is epoxy coated for ease of cleaning, and odor control. Each run also has raised food and water containers, safe, secure gates custom made to our specifications to prevent chewing and sloped floors for drainage and quick drying.
In the summer months, the kennel is well ventilated with windows, ceiling fans and a large garage door at the end of the building for a wonderful breeze and natural sunlight.
In the winter months, dogs enjoy our radiant floor heating, keeping the floor toasty warm without overheating the air. This makes very comfortable living conditions for the dogs.
We are a licensed kennel with the State of Pennsylvania Bureau of Dog Law, surpassing the standards required for dog kennels here or in any other state.
We are very proud of our kennel, and treat each dog as if it were our own. Anyone who has visited us will tell you that we really do care about each and every dog, and each and every handler, and that we are not like any other kennel you will ever visit.
Stop in and see us anytime. You are always welcome.
